Genre 1- Brochure
I choose a brochure for parents because I think parents get annoyed with reading letters. When parents get letters sometimes they just read the first sentence and throw them into their garbage can. I think they do this because schools send letters constantly to inform parents of events or something that happened at school. I thought creating a brochure might interest parents more since its a different style of delivering information. My goal was to express how important food allergies are in a classroom if a child is affected by an allergy. While I was creating my own brochure I included the "CRAP" principles where I was able to. I used contrast by adding color and sticking with the same colors throughout the brochure. I used contrast by using the same four colors, pink,gray,black, and red. I used repetition by repeating safe zone on almost every section of the brochure. I did that because I am trying to get the point across that you have to be safe when it comes to children with food allergies. I used alignment by making sure the text and the titles were lined up together.
Example 1 I choose this for my first example because I liked the alignment of the text and the pictures. In this example they really showed organization with everything they used. Also in this example proximity was shown by grouping the pictures together and by grouping the text together. For my brochure I used bullets and i got the idea from this example.

This is the second example of a brochure that I choose to use. I liked how they used contrast very well by using several different colors that looked well together. They did not over due the colors in this example, they used just enough. I also liked how they included repetition with the green water splashes on each page. This example is really catchy and makes someone want to look at it. For my brochure I used colors that I thought looked good together and I used repetition like they did in this example.

This is last example of a brochure that I found. In this example I liked how they used pictures and inserted them into the text. Also in this example they did a good job using alignment by lining the text together. For my brochure I used alignment and I inserted pictures into certain spots of the text.
Genre 2-Letter I choose to create a letter to send to a teacher pretending that I have a child with food allergies. In this letter my goal was to make sure that the teacher is aware of my child's condition and to make sure the teacher knew how to deal with this type of child. I wanted to show the teacher that she has to teach the class how to protect my child from reacting to an allergies. Also I wanted to let her know that I am willing to help the teacher set up his/her classroom with safety products for my child. While I was creating my own letter I included the "CRAP" principles where I was able to. I used contrast by keeping all the text black to make the letter look professional. I used repetition my saying my child over and over again in the letter. Lastly, I used alignment by lining up dear at the beginning and sincerely at the end.

I choose this for my first example because I liked how they used alignment by lining everything together starting with dear and ending with attached. Also I liked how they kept the style of the letter professional. For my letter I used alignment the same way and kept it professional.
Example 2
This is the second example of a letter that I found. In this example they did a very good job at using contrast and repetition. They used contrast by using different colors and they used repetition by repeating the easier, pencils, paint brushes, and rulers. However I did not like how the text was hand written and was not lined up. I did not include much from this example in my letter. What this example made me think about was to add a border. By adding a border I think it made the letter look better and more professional.

This is the last example of a letter that I found. I liked how this example added in the blue at the top but was still professional. After seeing this example it got me thinking of something to add to my own letter but still keeping to professional. This is where I got the idea to add a clip art picture to the end of my letter.
Genre 3-Satire
I choose to create a satire directed towards adults. I wanted to turn a serious message into a funny message. However my goal was to still get the message across that it is a serious message and should not be ignored. By creating a satire on a serious subject I think it helps people connect to the situation better. While I was creating my own satire I used the "CRAP" principles. I used contrast by putting the different types of food in color. I used repetition by repeating the "bad" food displayed using pictures. used Proximity by grouping all of the food together inside the body.

This is the first example of a satire that I choose. I choose this example because it deals with something serious and turns the meaning around. This example shows the "CRAP" principles well especially contracts with the colors. For my satire I took the same idea of turning a serious topic into a funny topic.

This is the second example of a satire that I choose to use.I liked how this example used proximity well by placing all the words in a place where they would be on a correct box of cereal. I also liked how they enlarged words that should be enlarged and used different style fonts. For my satire I used proximity by placing the words by the persons mouth as if the person was talking. I got that idea of this example because they placed the words in correct spots like I already stated above.

This is the last example that I choose for a satire. I liked this example because of the words coming out of the presidents mouth. I think this example used proximity well by using a background that made sense and followed well with the caption. This is where I got the Idea of using a caption when I created my satire.
